Types of coolers
Depending on the heat absorption medium, we offer the following types of
coolers:
- gas / gas (flat tube exchangers),
- gas / liquid (plate exchangers).
For the gas-gas type equipment, the cooling agent is in most of the cases the atmospheric air. If necessary, the heat absorbed by the cooling air may be used for heating water or oil in an additional exchanger installed on the cooler air outlet. Since the second stage of the heat exchanger operates with the use of clean gases, high efficiency and low installation costs.
For the gas-liquid type equipment, the cooling agent is in most of the cases the water. Cooling water parameters – temperature 150 ̊C, pressure 5 bar. To avoid the issue of cooling surfaces at the dew point, the liquid temperature at the outlet is subject to monitoring. Depending on the gas composition in the process, the absorption additives e.g. Ca(OH)2 may be used. In addition, the adaptation of the heat exchanger for operation with the liquid as cooling agent facilitates re-utilisation of the recycled heat.
Depending on the cooling agent cycle, the gas-gas type coolers may be divided as follows:
ECO-F-type – without cooling air recirculation. The cooling agent temperature is adjusted only by staring sufficient number of cooling fans. The cooling air temperature cannot be controlled (the atmospheric air sucked in).
-
ECO-FR-type – with cooling air recirculation. In the case ECO-FR coolers, the temperature of the cooling air approaching the exchanger may be controlled owing to recirculation of the cooling air.
